JOSH REISNER
(Amateur Ramen-Cook – NYC)

Josh Reisner is a 15-year old chef from Queens, NY. He has been cooking since the age of five and has had a passion for food before even learning to walk. Josh was only 10-years-old when he was one of the Top 8 finalists on the second season of MasterChef Junior and has been building his culinary career since while still making time for school. Josh has developed a strong passion for ramen and created ramen po-pups and collaborations at Shuya Cafe de Ramen in Astoria, Ramen Bar in DUMBO, and Ramen Lab by Sun Noodle. Josh has been a featured ramen presenter at the Hawaii Food & Wine Festival and the South Beach Wine & Food Festival in 2016 as well as at the New York City Wine & Food Festival in 2015.

Since the age of 11, Josh has been participating in the culinary scene in New York City; teaming up with Bite Size Kitchen at Smorgasburg Brooklyn, Mission Ceviche at the Gansevoort Market, Ramen Lab by Sun Noodle, Hidden Apron at the Green Table at Chelsea Market, Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar on Fifth Avenue, and most recently as a line cook at Momofuku Má Pêche.

Josh attends the Baccalaureate School for Global Education in Astoria, and while keeping up with 10th grade, Josh also keeps himself busy fine-tuning broths, tares, and ramen toppings. Josh believes that ramen can be a vehicle for the world’s greatest culinary techniques and has spent the past four years incorporating techniques he has learned in other kitchens into his own ramen. He works hard respecting traditions and techniques and hopes to successfully pay homage to them in a modern way in his future restaurants. Josh is honored to be a part of this year’s Anime NYC and contributing his ideas among ramen masters and enthusiasts at the Ramen Summit 2.0.
