BE IN NYC’S 2023 JAPAN PARADE!
The second annual Japan Parade will take place Saturday, May 13, 2023! March with various organizations celebrating Japanese culture, as well as 2023 Grand Marshal – Olympic Champion Kristi Yamaguchi!
This event is organized by Japan Day Inc. and various Japanese organizations both around NYC and across the USA, and they’d love to invite you to march in it!
- WHO CAN MARCH: The Japan Parade would love to invite New Yorkers of all ages to march in the parade in Japanese fashion or Japan-inspired outfits.
- OUTFIT DETAILS: All marchers should wear Japanese fashion or Japan-inspired outfits. This includes wearing traditional garments like kimono as well as more modern fashion such as street fashion, Harajuku fashion, and Lolita fashion. Please note, this does not include cosplay. The Japan Parade is looking to welcome a large number of outfits inspired by Japan, but marchers cannot dress as actual anime characters.
- DATE, TIME & LOCATION: The Japan Parade will begin at 1 PM on Saturday, May 13, 2023 and will run down Central Park West from 81st to 68th Streets. Marchers will need to arrive at least an hour beforehand to check in.

- The Anime NYC Japan Parade team will review all applications and accept as many as they can.
- All applications will hear back on if they can march in the parade by April 11.
- Further details about the parade, check in information, etc. will then be shared by May 2 with all accepted fans.
