NEW YORK, NY- Tuesday, July 9, 2024 ANIME NYC, the East Coast’s fastest growing anime and manga comic book convention, announced today that it is expanding its reach to include a dedicated educational track specifically designed for librarians and educators. To support this initiative, Anime NYC will be offering a complimentary Friday Pro badge to these professionals.
The convention, which brings Japanese creators and manga publishing companies to New York and provides anime fans with three days of unique exhibits, exclusive anime screenings and appearances by some of the most renowned creators from Japan.
This year, Anime NYC will be providing educators and Librarians the chance to explore opportunities to incorporate manga (Japanese comic books) and anime into their classrooms or libraries, providing a fresh and engaging way to encourage reading among young people. Approved applicants will be notified by email and will be able to pick up their badge August 23, 2024, the morning of the convention at the Javits Center (445 11th Ave). The convention as a whole is open to the public August 23-25, 2024.
Participating in this educational track include publishers such as Dark Horse Manga, Ize Press, Kodansha, Seven Seas, Square Enix, Tokyopop, VIZ Media, and Yen Press. These industry leaders will provide valuable insights and resources to help educators and librarians integrate manga into their programs. A variety of panels and networking opportunities tailored specifically for educators and librarians will be available on the Friday of the event including:
