VantaBlackCosplay is a West-Indian, natural hair cosplayer from Brooklyn, New York. Within the realm of cosplay, she is a wig stylist, prop maker, and lead panelist of Kinks and Curls: Ethnic Hair in the Cosplay Community. Vanta has hosted her panel at New York Comic Con, Katsucon, Blerdcon, and QuirkCon. Her panel was featured on Planet AfroPunk, and BET. She has modeled for Dynamite Comics, for their variant covers of Red Sonja and Vampirella. Vanta loves cosplaying because it allows her the creative freedom to be whoever she desires. She loves using her natural hair in her cosplays because it gives her the chance to emulate her favorite characters, with a little Vanta flair. Her personal motto, “Cosplay, but make it West Indian”
