MECHA CORPS MISSION BRIEF (OR… HOW TO CON!)

Whether this is your first Anime NYC or you’ve been with us since Day 1, Rocket and Alice have some hints and tips to help you prepare for and navigate your way around the show!

PRE-SHOW | GETTING THERE | SHOWTIME! | AFTER THE SHOW | MORE TIPS!

⚠️ NEW FOR 2024! ⚠️

New dates, new halls, here’s run down of what to know!

  • New morning queue area! We’re going to try to get as many fans as we can inside the building in the morning! Fans arriving early will be directed to queue up in Hall C.

  • New queueing area for the main stage! Queueing for the Main Stage presented by Ito En (Hall D) will now be in Hall C after the morning queue is cleared.

  • New Programming Area! The same programming you love, but more of it! Programming has moved to Hall A!

  • New stage! So what’s in Hall E now? Our new programming stage and you all helped name it — the Sakura Stage!

  • New gaming area! Hall B is now home to all things gaming! Whether you’re into tabletop gaming or console gaming, we’ve got something for you!

GEAR UP! (YOUR PRE-SHOW CHECKLIST)

To make sure your mission (to have fun) is successful, let’s run through this checklist…

  • Badges! If you missed the badge mailing deadline or opted for retailer pickup, we highly suggest picking them up before the show as their retail hours may not align with show opening times. Are you an International fan who’s badge isn’t eligible for mailing? Keep an eye out for an email with instructions on how to pick up your badge!

  • Download the app! While we try to avoid it as much as we can, there can be last minute changes and our app will have the most up to date information!

  • Sign up for our mailing list to have the latest announcements and updates sent straight to your inbox! More of a social media fan? Give us a follow! We’re on FacebookX, and Instagram.

  • Charge your phone and bring a (charged up!) portable charger! You don’t want your phone to die while you’re taking a photo of an awesome cosplay or a selfie with your favorite voice actor!

  • If you pre-ordered any autographs/photo ops, won any lotteries, or made any reservations, make sure to have your QR code handy either on your phone or printed out.

FIRE YOUR MECH UP! (GETTING TO THE SHOW)

Get in a good breakfast to keep your energy up! It’s con day!

  • Badges! Make sure you have them! If your badges were mailed to you, make sure you bring them — you don’t want to have to go all the way back home if you forgot them. Did you wait until the very last minute and still need to pick it up from a retailer? Call ahead to confirm their business hours!

  • Make sure to allot time for travel! It’s NYC. There will be traffic. Public transportation is always a good option so you don’t have to look for (and then pay for) parking. (Just remember that public transit may be running on a weekend schedule, so be sure to check for any changes in transit times! Also, the MTA loves to do repairs on the weekend, so you may need to plan an alternate route.) Need to drive in? Book your parking ahead of time! Check out our travel page to help plan your trip.

ACTION!

Anime NYC isn’t just celebrities and merch (although we do love our celebrities and merch…) there’s a ton to do and explore!

  • Check out a panel (or ten)! Programming changes every day, so there’s always something new! Sit in on a panel with your favorite voice actor or pop in to one that sounds interesting — you might find your new favorite show!

  • NEW AREA ALERT! You want more programming? Check out our new Sakura Stage (which will be home to the Cosplay Contest) in Hall E!

  • Love to cosplay or just love to check out cosplay? Make sure to visit Destination Cosplay (which is now back in the River Pavilion!) — meet up with fellow fans, check out demos, meet some of your favorite cosplayers, and geek out over craftsmanship!

  • NEW AREA ALERT! Gaming fan? Check out our Gaming Hall in Hall B! 80,000 square feet of gaming with Play NYC, Misty Mountain Gaming, Psychic Drive, Defend the North, Baz LLC, and Riichi Nomi. Whether you’re looking for video games or table top games, we’ve got you covered!

  • Love music? We’ve got concerts for you! Kick off Friday with hololive and Creepy Nuts! (Please note that both these concerts are separately ticketed)

  • Love to party? We’ve expanded our afterparties! Start your weekend early on Thursday with Shonen Pump at our new official kick-off party, then join Plus Ultra Entertainment on Friday night, stay up Saturday with Senpai Squad, and then wrap it all up on Sunday night with Project Nutype at our first official wrap party!

  • We know we said there’s more to Anime NYC than celebrities and merch, but who doesn’t love celebrities and merch? Meet your favorite VAs and anime and manga creators and then explore our show floor! Be sure to explore Artist Alley to support and discover local talent and get one of a kind merch!

DEBRIEF TIME! (POST SHOW RECOVERY)

Anime NYC is wrapped! Now what?

  • Rest up! Now’s the time to catch up on all the sleep you skipped out on to explore everything Anime NYC had to offer!

  • Did you remember to sign up for our mailing list? Keep an eye out for our post-show survey! Let us know what you loved and want to see more of, what we missed that you want to see at the show, and what we can improve to make Anime NYC your convention.

MISSION NOTES (AND ADDITIONAL TIPS)

Because one can never be too prepared for Anime NYC….

Rocket is ready to help!
  • Do you have accessibility needs? We strive to create an inclusive and friendly environment for all, including providing a variety of services to help you enjoy your show. However, for some services such as ASL interpreters, we ask that you request them in advance. Information on how to do so, can be found on our Accessibility Page. Please be aware that mobility devices will need to be requested through the Javits Center. If you have preferred provider, we encourage you to reach out to them on your own.

  • We’ve got all of the main Javits building this year, so that means more things to do and more walking! So, we’re not going to sugar coat it, there will be a lot of walking and there will be lines — wear comfy shoes!

  • Stay hydrated! You can bring a water bottle (no glass!) to refill at one of the many water filling stations around the convention center.

  • You don’t want to wait in line only to find out we’ve sold out of our official t-shirt in your size. Pre-order your merch and you can pick it up any time during the exhibit hall hours! (Just don’t forget to pick up your merch! We can’t ship or refund unclaimed items.)

  • Check out our Discord to connect with other fans! Want more tips? They’ll have it!

  • Have a question that isn’t covered in this guide or our FAQ? Send us an email! Rocket is ready to tackle your questions! (He can type surprisingly fast with his little paws!)
