Whether you are ready to dive in deep, or are just getting started, there are options for you:

  • Participant Tickets will allow attendees to fully be involved in the workshop, performing and receiving feedback from the Bang Zoom! team.
  • Observer Tickets will allow attendees entry to the workshop, with the opportunity to listen, observe, and learn from the Bang Zoom! team.

Join Casting Director Mami Okada, CSA, from Bang Zoom! Studios for an interactive workshop focused on the art of auditioning for anime and video games.

Participants will explore audition techniques used in professional voice-over sessions, character development strategies, script interpretation, and performance choices that help bring animation and video games to life. Through guided exercises, attendees will gain insight into the creative and technical aspects of the audition process while receiving guided feedback designed to help them grow as performers.

Whether you’re completely new to voice acting or have previous experience behind the microphone, this workshop is open to all skill levels. The goal is to provide a supportive learning environment where participants can develop their skills, build confidence, and gain a deeper understanding of the industry.

Your instructor will be Mami Okada, CSA!

Mami Okada is a Casting Director and Co-President at Bang Zoom! Studios, one of the industry’s leading audio post-production studios specializing in anime, animation, and video game localization. Through her work at Bang Zoom!, Mami has helped discover and develop voice talent while contributing to the English localization of some of the world’s most popular animated and gaming properties. She and the Bang Zoom! team have taught workshops and conducted educational programming at conventions and events throughout the United States.



Yes, in order to participate in the Bang Zoom! Workshops at Anime NYC, you will need both an Anime NYC Badge (valid for the day of the event) and a ticket to the Workshop.

Quantities are very limited. Please be sure to purchase Workshop tickets directly through AnimeNYC.com/Bang-Zoom, to ensure you have valid entry.

Workshop tickets are priced as:

  • Participant: $250 per person
  • Observer: $100 per person
