SHINJI ARAMAKI

Born in 1960 in Fukuoka Prefecture, Shinji Aramaki is a film director and mechanical designer.

In the 1980s, he worked as a mechanical designer and director on anime such as Genesis Climber MOSPEADA, Megazone 23, Bubblegum Crisis, and Metal Skin Panic MADOX-01.

Since the full CG animation movie APPLESEED, directed by Aramaki in 2004, he has also been active as a director of CG animations.

He founded Sola Digital Arts in 2010 together with producer Joseph Chou, and his major recent works have included APPLESEED alpha, Space Pirate Captain Harlock, Evangelion: Another Impact, Starship Troopers: Invasion, ULTRAMAN (co-supervised by Kenji Kamiyama), and Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 (directed by Kenji Kamiyama).

He’s now working on the CG anime series Blade Runner: Black Lotus (co-directed with Kenji Kamiyama).
